Conservative Party education policy since 2015 has further amplified the marketisation policies introduced through the 1988 Education Act (and continued under New Labour and the Coalition). The main aspects of their policies since 2015 have included austerity (relative funding cuts), the expansion of academies and free schools, increasing grammar schools (more selective education), continuing the pupil premium, encouraging more pupils to take the Ebacc and introducing Technical A-levels.
